NANS SOUTHWEST APPLAUD THE SPECIAL ADVISER TO GOVERNOR OF LAGOS STATE ON EDUCATION, TOKUNBO WAHAB FOR FACILITATING THE DISBURSEMENT OF BURSARY SCHOLARSHIP
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu alongside his Special Adviser on Education, Tokunbo Wahab has been nothing but a visionary leaders with their eyes trained on the realization of a ‘Greater Lagos’ through THEMES agenda. In truth, Sanwo-Olu and his advisers has not shamed the student community, those that shed sweat, blood, relatives and friends for his sake in the election that brought him to state governorship. His synopsis for leadership and his unwaivering commitment to development of students in Lagos State would certainly earn him another adminstrative tenure should he continues this way.
As a savvy administrator whose interest in keenly at developing all sectors in the state, Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been optimally utilizing the Office of the Special Adviser on Education to reach out to all students in the state since becoming the Governor of the state.
Earlier this week, the leadership of NANS Southwest received with great enthusiasm, the report of the commencement of Lagos State Scholarship Board Bursary disbursement facilitated by the Office of the Special Adviser on Education to students who are indigenes of Lagos State across the country. This exercise which is a type of scholarship targeted primarily at providing financial support for students who are not able to cover the cost of their education even with the help of their parents is the most recent evidence of Governor Babajide’s soft spot for improved welfare of all students in the state.
A students Busary helps by giving students money to pay for their tuition, purchase textbooks, materials and feed them. By giving out bursaries, students of the state are encouraged to do more with a stable psychological state geared for more productivity and this, we must commend the Governor who is a savvy administrator for having the interest of our subjects at heart and the astuteness of the Special Adviser on Education for availing himself at the service of the entire students in Lagos State.
As a conglomerate of all students in Nigeria (NANS) and we, as the leadership of her zonal structure (Southwest) haven’t for once been disappointed by Lagos State Government, particular the Officer of the Special Adviser on Education and yet, this is another hits to further promote the position of the Lagos State Government and her Office of the Special Adviser on Education on our scorecard as the Government of students and a purpose fulfilling respectively. We are happy with the performances of Lagos State Government, Governor, Babajide Sanwo Olu and that of his Special Adviser on Education, Tokunbo Wahab for being a truly Center of Excellence and excellent agents.
We won’t stop citing Lagos State Government as a government worthy of emulation to other states government, particularly, the Southwestern Governors. We urge them to rival Lagos State in making students friendly policies and improve education in their respective state. All state, especially, Southwestern communities can make an healthy competition in this rivalry. Lagos State has maintained the status quo and we want other state to challenge her.
