Why Seyi Makinde Is Asset To PDP, Nigeria — PDP Frontier Youth Leader


A popular public affairs commentator and National Coordinator of Peoples Democratic Party Youth Frontier, Comrade Austin Okai, has described Governor Oluwaseyi Makinde of Oyo state as an asset to PDP and Nigeria.

Comrade Okai, a Kogi state born chartered accountant made this known through a statement he personally signed on Tuesday.

He describes the Oyo state Governor as a pragmatic leader with charismatic personality and charming character that has provided leadership to members of PDP in the state, Southwest geopolitical zone and country at large.

Giving reason for his assertion, the PDP youth leader said: “Governor Seyi Makinde, since assuming office as Governor of Oyo state on 29th May 2019, has shown leadership to the party. His charismatic nature has endeared him to every member of the party across the country.

“Furthermore, Governor Makinde pragmatic leadership and performance as Governor of Oyo state has brought glory to the party across the southwest.”

“As the Chairman of the 2019 National Governorship Campaign Council of Kogi state, Governor Makinde defied every odds and stood with members of Kogi PDP (and Kogi people in general) with all might till the very end even in the face of tyranny from the evil government of Kogi state.

“Outside partisan politics, Governor Makinde has consistently played significant role to ensure that Nigeria get it right. His effective handling of the insecurity issues in Oyo state that has led to calm, and brotherly management of the pro-Yoruba nation agitators is historic and unprecedented.

“Through Governor Makinde, we saw the completion of the reconstruction of the 65km Moniya-Ijaiye-Iseyin Road which is linked to Ijaiye and Ipapo-Iseyin farm settlements. The 12 km Apete-Awotan-Akufo Road which leads to the Akufo Agribusiness Hub (previously farm settlement) is also being reconstructed. The Aawe Township Road leading to the Agribusiness Incubation Centre, Awe was also reconstructed.”

“The Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency (OYSADA) is collaborating with the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) to convert the former moribund Rural Community Development Centre (Aawe) into an agribusiness hub will address food shortage problem in the state and Nigeria.

The newly reconstructed Lekan Salami Stadium is now at par with the standard of a global football pitch and other sporting activities,” Okai added.

According to him, “Makinde’s administration consistently paid full salaries on the 25th of each month and payment of the 13th month salary for the oyo state workers”.

“With these and so many to mention, Indeed, Governor Seyi Makinde is a pride to the country and a worthy ambassador to PDP,” he concluded.
