6th October, 2021.

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Zone A Deputy Coordinator, Comr. Ziya’u Sarki has called on Kano State Government and security agencies to take proactive measures against banditry and do anything within their reach against the kidnapping of BUK female Student at Rijiyar Zaki area Kano State.

Ziya’u Sarki Statement noted, ” the increasing insecurity in some neighboring States has reached a frightening level, Therefore, Kano State requires urgent and pragmatic action by government at all levels.

Ziya’u Sarki also appealed to all citizens with useful information that could help the personnel Combating the menace of kidnapping not to hesitate assist government and security agencies.

Kano State cannot be productive if residents live in fear, because one of the dire consequences of kidnapping is that many farmers can no longer go to the farm and some may not harvest their goods and as well Students will no longer learn effectively due to the panic of kidnappers.

When people live in perpetual fear, they could scarcely think right or plan intelligently, saying that is why the government needs to act fast to halt the frenzy caused by bandits and kidnappers more especially in Kano State which is not affected in one way or the other.

We hope the State government and the Security agencies will consider our call and swing into action in order to curtail this menace.
