Shut Down Kaduna-Abuja Highway Within 7 Days If You Can’t Protect People’s Life – NANS VP Fires FG

National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) office of the vice president National Affairs Comr. Yazeed T. Muhammad gave the federal government of Nigeria 1 week ultimatum if measures are not taken over the insecurity issues along Kaduna – Abuja highway to shut down the roads.

The vice president National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), National Affairs have raised an alarm over the security threats, kidnappings and killings along the Abuja-Kaduna highway said the situation was frightening.

Comr. Yazeed T. Muhammad call on the federal government of Nigeria to deploy security personnel on the roads in order to tackle the menace of this insurgency, banditry and kidnappings because the state of insecurity in Nigeria has been a matter of grave concern to all well-meaning patriots for several years now and that this has come in the form of insurgency and banditry, amongst others. This state of insecurity has severely affected students and travelers on Kaduna to Abuja roads.

“therefore, we give 7 Days Ultimatum to the federal government to take effective measures over the security of lives, properties and the citizens of Nigeria especially students on Kaduna to Abuja Highway, as we decided to closed down the roads until we reach our demands due to the phenomenon of banditry has steadily and increasingly found its way back to the Abuja-Kaduna highway.

Security is one of the paramount policies of the current administration for which it has left no stone unturned towards neutralising the scourge.

Moreover, Abuja-Kaduna highway is the critical gateway between the North and the South of Nigeria and the major link road to the North West and North East as well as to many neighbouring countries. Indeed, the Abuja Kaduna highway is the key outlet for the transportation of persons, goods and services across Nigeria and this is evident in the extraordinary traffic on it round the clock.

For these and other reasons that cannot be accommodated in this statement, it is imperative that the security state of the Abuja-Kaduna Highway must be restored at once.

“We are ready to encourage and support every effort by the federal government of Nigeria, House of Representatives, the National Assembly, security agencies towards ensuring the restoration of calm and lasting peace along the Abuja-Kaduna Highway”,
