STUDENT UNION GOVERNMENT, EKITI STATE UNIVERSITY_

FROM THE STABLE OF EKSU SUG LED BY COMR ALADEDAHUNSI TEMITOPE E. pka TEMMYTEE (Egbe OMOLUABI)

The sudden closure of our university came to us as a rude shock. The closure came at a time our government has just been inaugurated and we are on the process of settling down to the business of leadership of the students and initiating the process of delivering on our electioneering campaign promises.

EKSU SUG do not want to be dragged into the imbroglio between the management and the staff unions. We are pleading with the feuding parties to shelve their sword for the sake of the students and not to jeopardize or delay the academics, learning, registration, mobilization of fresh graduates and general interest of the students.

When two elephant fights, the grass suffers, ASUU EKSU has little or nothing to lose, EKSU Management on the other hand have little or nothing to lose but the students are on the losing end.

We hereby plead and hope an agreement is reached and the interest of students are taken into good considerations by restoring normalcy back to the students community before WEDNESDAY 28th April 2021 to avoid further interference.

We also wish to solicit for interface and audience with the visitor to the university, DR JOHN KAYODE FAYEMI, a father, and lover of quality education to also weigh in by placing the interest of the students as priority.

We do hope that the issue is de-escalated so that students won’t have to engage in mass action in order to show our grievances and rejection for this development.

Yours in struggle.
