OFFICE OF THE DEPUTY COORDINATOR NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIAN STUDENTS (NANS) ZONE A

23 JUNE, 2021.

Press Release…

ZONE A DC CALL ON THE KANO STATE GOVERNMENT TO MAKE A REVIEW ON THE QUALIFIED STUDENTS TO SIT FOR NECO EXAMINATION, ALSO SEEKS GOVERNMENT INTERVENTION TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE OF NECO REGISTRATION FOR KANO STATE STUDENTS TO HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO SIT FOR THE EXAMS.

The National Association of Nigerian Students zone A Deputy Coordinator His Youthfulness Comr. Ziya’u Sarki earlier on today disclosed that on Monday 21 June 2021 the Kano State Government shortlisted the examination result of qualified students within the state. Unfortunately, 85% of Kano State Students are disqualified for the examination.

Moreover, on Friday 25 June 2021, NECO would be closing hee registration therefore, any Students whi fails to write NECO directly is the fault of the State Government, due to the delay in releasing the qualified Students result lists so that everyone will prepare his fee for the registration.

Therefore, the DC made an earnest demand to the state Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje (Khadimul Qur’an) to delegate a committee in order review the examination result and allow successful students to sit for the examination due to the huge number of students that are not suitable, and as well to call on the National Examination council with immediate effect in order to extend the registration deadline to be in accordance with the Students satisfaction so that the Kano State Students will sit for the Examination.

Students needs intrinsic and extrinsic motivation more especially at this level that someone might think to quit while some continues, and we are always commending the effort due to the support, welfarism and contributions you are giving towards the development of Kano State Students and Nigeria at large.

We hope the State Government and NECO will consider our submission and investigate into the issues and review the shortlisted listed and as well thoroughly review the Students result.

Thank you.

Signed.

Comr. Ziya’u Sarki
Deputy Coordinator NANS Zone A
