We would like to acknowledge here that the said bill as proposed by Distinguished Hon. Adekoya Adesegun AbdelMajeed, federal legislator representing Ijebu North/East and Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency is absolutely brilliant and its ultimate consideration for accent by the National Assembly will be of great reward to the nation at large especially at this time when insecurity is confronting our dear country.

The bill comprehensively and exhaustively spells out the many angles from which its due consideration and diligent implementation will add imeasurable value to our nationality.

We are faced with the reality of persistently growing insecurity and commensurate increase in abuse/misuse of military/Paramilitary privileges by contending forces in the nation.

Now more than ever, we need to seek effective ways to grow outfits that are thoroughly schooled in the art of intelligent and civil discharge of security services to the Nigerian citizens as we see in more developed climes.

Only if right engagement has been done many issues wouldn’t have degenerated into crisis, Nigeria would have been nipped in the bud.

The bill brilliantly describes how the strategic siting of the proposed Paramilitary Academy in the Southwest region will not only save the government the cost of building from scratch, but also will bring a significant balance to the perceived marginalization of the southwest and other regions asides the north in hosting federal academy for the various military schools.

The economic cum social benefits implementation of the said bill promises cannot also be overemphasized. Unemployment gap will also be significantly breached as jobs will be created.

Paramilitary organizations including: The Nigeria Immigration Services, Nigeria Customs Services, the Nigeria Correctional Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, National Drug Law and Enforcement Agency and the Federal Road Safety Corps; when brought under one roof, will form workable synergy, interconnect, and bond for inter-agency knowledge exchange purposes. This singular benefit as stated in the bill will go a long way in enhancing the effectiveness of the Nigerian law enforcement agencies.

To this end, the students constituency in Ogun state express our trust in the potency of the bill and we give our full support in it’s favour. We therefore humbly charge the members of the national assembly to throw their weight behind the sponsorship of the bill and see it to a successful approval and eventual accent by both the House, Senate and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Signed:
Comrade ADEYEMI SAMSON AJASA
CHAIRMAN
NANS JCC OGUN STATE AXIS.
