WELCOME BACK ON CAMPUS
The Executive Council of the Student Union Government is thrilled to welcome you back on campus. We know you are eager as we are to immerse ourselves in the work ahead of us. There’s much work to do.
A lot has happened in the world from last year. The pandemic has taken a horrible toll on lives, families, communities and our country; it was a source of stress to all of us, many of us were deeply pained in Many ways. At the same time, we’ve suffered the longevity of ASUU Strike, Protests of many forms, total lockdown, etc, but it is still a thing of tingling felicity to have us back at last to our Citadel of learning.
The Student Union Government interceded for the provision 3,000 disposable nose mask, 100 face shields and some few hand sanitizers which were made available by the Senior Special Assistant to Adamawa State Governor on Primary Healthcare Dr Aminu Aliyu which shall be adequately distributed across.
There are many changes the University Management made in our campus; provision of signs at strategic places to remind us of the COVID19 protocols, provision of hand washing stations and sanitizing spots in buildings and the fumigation of our hostels and classrooms.
This entails that all of us must take responsible for ourselves and each other in doing everything we can to create a safe environment. This include wearing face mask at all times, regular washing of hands or sanitizing, practicing social distancing and not congregating in large groups on or off campus.
The leadership of the union also constituted a Presidential Task Force on Landlords and Students’ Issues, PTFLSI which hopefully will address us later on the agreement reached
