More than 6 students were reported crushed to death and more than dozen injured in a trailer accident that occurred at Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, in which the students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko are the most affected by the heartbreaking incident. Hence, the Vice Chancellor of the school have ordered that school should be closed with immediate effect, and all students are to vacate campus today, 24th of January, on or before 6pm.
The circular related to students by the Acting Registrar reads:
“CIRCULAR TO ALL STUDENTS
“Further to our circular of Saturday 23rd January, 2021 and the attendant protest by students on Sunday 24th January, 2021, the Acting Vice Chancellor on behalf of Senate has directed that the University be closed with immediate effect until further notice.
“All students are therefore advised to vacate the campus latest by 6pm today, Sunday 24th January, 2021.
