June 12 : Protesters Storm Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Demand End To Bad Governance, Insecurity, Poverty

Protesters who are majorly youths stage protest in Gani Fawehinmi square (Lagos state), Mokola Ibadan (Oyo State), Ijebu Ode (Ogun state), and Oshogbo (Osun state) over the growing insecurity and poverty in Nigeria.

The protesters, who gathered at different popular places in southwestern states for the June 12 rally, held placards demanding an end to bad governance in the country.

Police, Army, DSS and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps were present at different protest grounds, but despite the heavy security, protesters held their placard, and sang different solidarity songs.

Among the inscriptions on the placards are ‘End impunity in Nigeria’, ‘No to fuel price hike’, and ‘We are tired of the killings, insecurity, terrorism, and poverty in the country.
