OPEN LETTER TO HIS EXCELLENCY, GOVERNOR SEYI MAKINDE, EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF OYO STATE

Your Excellency Sir,

AN APPEAL FOR RENOVATION, EQUIPPING AND STAFFING OF GENERAL HOSPITAL IGBOHO, OORELOPE LOCAL GOVERNMENT OF OYO STATE

Preamble:
Your Excellency Sir,

General Hospital at Igboho has suffered continuous lack of maintenance over the years and this has turned the only public hospital to a ghost of itself. It now harbours reptiles through the cracked walls, with leaking roofs and worn out paints.

The Patronage is getting worse because of the sorry state of the hospital, and people are fearful not to go for headache treatment and get infected with typhoid in addition to their sickness they brought to the Hospital for treatment.

This has led to quackery, where people now patronise those who impersonate to be Health Workers, who extort them and put their lives in danger. The fixtures are either bad beyond repair or obsolete for use.

Though the Hospital was designed to cater for Primary and Secondary healthcare services, its present state doesn’t allow it to discharge such functions promptly and effectively.

Adequate attention and prompt intervention is hereby humbly sought in the following areas :

1. Number of Medical Doctors at present – 1 Medical Officer
More Medical Doctors are required, at least 4-5 experienced Medical Doctors and Corps Members of Medical Professional will make a positive difference.

2) Number of Pharmacists – None.
3 experienced registered Pharmacists, and 3 Corps Members will discharge Pharmaceutical care services effectively

3) Number of Pharmacy Technician – 1

Refrigerators are not available to keep and maintain thermo labile products like Vaccines, Anti Snake venom, A.T.S,Tetanus Toxoid and the likes.

Medical/Clinical Devices .
The Hospital requires supply of these items for effective Healthcare Service delivery.

1. Ambulance Service – Ambulance Bus(es) and Driver(s)- No Driver,
Engage two more.
A second hand Ambulance was repaired by an Indigene (Alh. Najeedeem Ajila) with support of Honorable Muktar Sekoni. A new Ambulance Bus and Driver are required to refer Patients to Secondary and/or Tertiary Health Institutions to access supportive cares when need arises.

Igboho is far from the City Centers, and People have to travel far (to Ilorin, Ogbomoso, Ibadan and neighbouring Countries, Niger Republic and Benin Republic) to access secondary and tertiary Health care services.
