The Alliance Of Yoruba Youth Council Worldwide (AYYCW) has replied harshly to the statement made by Aliyu Muhammad, Chairman of Miyatti Allah Association of Cattle Breeders, Kwara state, insisting that they would continue to block passage of food to Southwesterns states at Kwara state which links Yoruba states.
The section of the Yoruba Youth in their press release signed by National President of the movement, Dr. Akande Kazeem Babatunde and the secretary, Comrade Adegunju Tayo called the statement made by Aliyu Muhammad a disgusting and confusing one, hence draw the attention of Federal government and UN before the issue goes out of perseverance.
The full statement reads;
The attention of the National Secretariat of Alliance of Yoruba Youths Council Worldwide (AYYCW) has been drawn to statement credited to one Aliyu Mohammed of Miyetti Allah Association of Cattle Breeders saying no food supply to the Yoruba, hence condemned such utterances.
It is so disgusting and confusing to hear such from a responsible individual not to talk of an association like Miyetti Allah.
When the nation is still experiencing the fearing storm of aggression, pervasive killings, forceful invasion of farmlands and communities by bandits and terrorists who disguises as Fulani herdsmen in the country.
Let it be told if forgotten that South West has been peaceful and supportive to the policy of the Government of the Federation.
This kind of statement by Miyetti Allah is nothing but a decoy to make us pretend not to see all the dead killed, mayhem unleashed, and properties destroyed by the terrorists or the ransom paid for job not delivered for the common benefit of all Nigerians.
It is a known fact that these so called Miyetti Allah are major sponsor of herdsmen whose in their custom and tradition value themselves and cows than other regions which has brought about their unruly, disrespectful and peace threatening to indigenes and the entire Yoruba Land.
Nevertheless, we must emphasis on the fact that South West belongs to Yorubas and not for Fulanis. Moreso, Yoruba Land belongs to Yorubas before it belongs to Federal Government of Nigeria.
As much as we Yorubas cherish peace to reign in our region, we urge the Federal Government under the administration of President Muhammad Buhari, GCFR to be fair and just in administrative discharge in order not to cause chaos among the regions in the country.
Also, we appeal to the United Nation (UN) to urgently intervene in the matter before we turned other side to unnecessary comment from Miyetti Allah.
In addendum to the above, we urge our industrialist, traditional, religious, political and leaders, security agencies in Yoruba Land to summon an emergency conference on ways of overcoming the threat from the North.
Finally, if the statement of Miyetti Allah was not reversed within a week, we as Youths shall mobilize in the stoppage of the gas to the North without regrettable thought.
