Dig. MOE, Oyo SA Students Graced FSSIB Historic Convocation

Yesterday Friday 9th April, 2021, Dig. Moyosoreoluwa Olamilekan the founder of Moyology Orientation EmpireĀ  and SA to Gov Seyi Makinde on student’s matters graced an historic convocation of FEDERAL SCHOOL OF STATISTICS IBADAN.

It was an historic event to witness the first and ever long overdue convocation ceremony of the great citadel of learning, where they speak facts from figures, Federal School of Statistics.

This school was established in 1948 as a training unit for refresher courses under the Federal Office of Statistics (FOS), now known as National Bureau of Statistics, which is a merger of FOS and National Data Bank. The school which is situated along Ajibode Shasha Road, Behind Niser, Opp University Of Ibadan Distance Learning, Ibadan.

According to the Rector, he said In 1961, its training activities were extended to other ministries and parastatals and later graduated to a full-fledged school in 1971, awarding a middle-level statistical officer certificate for a two-year programme in statistics, Enugu Campus inclusive.

Speaking at the event, the Rector, Dr. Kayode Oguntuase Balogun thanked the almighty God for the privilege to hold the ceremony, he extended the remarks to all members of staff as well the Statistician General of the Federation, Dr. Yemi Kale who was unavoidably absent and duly represented by some delegates from Abuja.

Speaking further, he mentioned Challenges, and difficulties encountered in the processs of accreditation by the NBTE led to the delay in the convocation of graduates from 2014/2015 academic session even till date.

The school which operates in Awarding Certificate on National Diploma only on Statistics course , now with the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) inspection and approval now run both National Diploma and Higher National Diploma programmes in Statistics, Computer Science, Business Administration and Accounting with NYSC opportunity.

Dr. Balogun charged the students as well the graduands to be focused, motivated, insightful and dream Excellence in their academic pursuit to higher levels.

While delivering a good will message at the convocation ground, one of the Governor’s appointees, Hon. Victor Dideoluwa Olojede, SA Students to Governor Seyi Makinde, former aspirant as Member OYHA Akinyele Constituency 2, commended the school management for their Dexterous academic service delivery, impacting knowledge on the Students as well taking the hard step further to make sure today comes in reality. He also encouraged the graduands to be good Ambassador of Federal School of Statistics and be of good brand across the world.

Also, he congratulated an overall students of the school, best performed Student with the highest GDPA amidst over 3,658 graduates, whose name is Master Emmanuel Dada, to push for more and not relent as sky is his minimum. Hon. Victor launched the school magazine, titled Beacon, led by the UCJ President with huge sum of money undisclosed to encourage them to do more.

Finally, Dig. Com Moyosoreoluwa Olamilekan enjoins all graduands to be hopeful that fortune smiles in them as they progress further in their carrier in attaining success in all ramifications as well charged the best performed Student not to lose focus, he wished the young lad could be granted a landmark scholarship to be facilitated by the SA Students before the state government under the leadership of His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde he said.
