BREAKING: NANS Reacts As Ekiti College Democratically Elected Student Union Executives After 8 Years

REPORT OF THE SUG ELECTION OF COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY IJERO HELD YESTERDAY 08TH SEPTEMBER, 2021.

As part of my obligations which is to give Nigerian students effective representation, I led a delegation of NANS comrades and other Student leaders to observe the SUG election in College of Health, Sciences and Technology, Ijero Ekiti after eight years of suspending the student union government on the Campus. We were warmly received by the Student Union caretaker chairman, The Dean Student Affairs and the Deputy provost who were all legitimately interested in the reinstatement of student union on the Campus

The election started about 10:30am and ended by 4:00pm on the dot.

From observations, the election was very free and transparent as students exercised their franchise without fear or favour.
I appreciate the services of the security architectures which includes the police, Civil Defense and School securities who were on ground to ensure peace and orderliness during the process.

I commend the effort of the Dean of Students and the Electoral Board members for the transparency they employed at ensuring that the mandate of who lead Nigerian Students in College of Health, Sciences and Technology Ijero Ekiti was freely expressed by the students concerned.

The two Presidential candidates were;
1. Comr. Oyejide Oluwadamilola who pulled a total of 298 votes and

2. Comr. Osadare Victor who had a total of 506 votes to emerge as the winner.

I use this opportunity to Congratulate and at the same time welcome Comr. Osadare Victor and his excos on board of struggle, as others succeed they will also succeed IJN.

Let me use this opportunity to commend the daring disposition of Comr. Oyejide Oluwadamilola, a gallant female comrade for daring the struggle, such is commendable. Don’t think you’re a failure because you’re not, Keep trying!

I wish to expressly appreciate the Provost of the College, Dr. Mrs Adebayo Cecilia and her Management team for making sure that the election was conducted smoothly as I also congratulate her for this breathtaking achievement of reinstating the student union government in the institution. Ma, your display of leadership prowess is second to none and we are confident that the student union will thrive under your leadership.

I won’t fail to thank the outgoing Excos of the Students’ union led by Comr. Oni Opeyemi Henry Obama for the selfless services they rendered during their administration.

Specifically I thank the Students of the College for their disposition and great sense of coordination throughout the period the election lasted.
