BREAKING: Five Feared “Killed” As Unknown Gunmen Ambushed Soldiers in Imo

Unknown gunmen are claimed to have shot and killed at least five troops along Wetheral Road in Owerri, Imo State. The incident happened in the late hours of Friday.

This comes only days before Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), issued a seat-at-home directive on May 30th in honour of Biafra Day.

According to an eyewitness, the bandits ambushed the soldiers and opened fire, killing five of them at once.

“At the moment, five soldiers have been killed by gunfire. Everyone is fleeing. The Wetheral Road, the Nazi/Aba Road, the Government House Roundabout, and all of the connecting roads have been closed. “I witnessed five troops evacuating the bodies in a Hilux vehicle.

“The robbers have already fled, shooting intermittently in the air to frighten people away.”

Bala Elkana, the Imo State Police Public Relations Officer, could not be reached at the time of this report.
