ASUU Strike: Opening Of Fire On Peaceful Protesting Students Will Worsen Situation – NANS Warns Govt

It is now longer a news that students across various zones have been demonstrating a peaceful protest against ASUU and the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT over the strike that had caused students so many failures and inconveniences. The students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba, in Akure, had, alongside, counterparts from neighboring states, barricaded major highways, including the Benin-Ore Express road while they protested, in compliance with the instructions from the NANS National Secretariat led by Comr. Sunday Adedayo Asefon.

It is so unfortunate and sadden that Nigeria army soldiers opened fire on a crowd of peaceful protesters during a peaceful demonstrations in Ondo thereby causing injuries to Nigeria students. What occurred in LEKKI is now happening to Nigerian students in ONDO and we shall definitely object this time.

The Cordinator of NANS Southwest Comr. Tegbe Stephen Fiyinfoluwa therefore call on the Federal Government to listen to Nigeria students’ call and make necessary amendments before the situation get out of hand. We are Nigerian students, this awful and barbaric acts from the Government and the security operatives must stop now and we shall not back out until our demands are met.
